Wikstrom Manor (Bed & Breakfast)
304 W. 2nd St. , Momence, IL 60954-1403
Designed and built by E. Axel Wikstrom in 1892 to accomodate dignitaries from his homeland of Sweden. Known as the Villa Swea, it was used as a gathering place for visiting diplomats and local socialites. After the death of the Wikstrom's, the home was operated by the Sisters Servants of the Hold Heart of Mary and known as the "Villa Maria" boarding school for preschool children. Today, Wikstrom Manor is an elegant bed & breakfast with plenty of history inside.
