FARM TO FARM TABLE
Locavore brings the table to the farm in peaceful rural Kankakee County.

Did you know the concept of soft-serve was first developed in 1938 by John McCullough and his son? They convinced friend, Sherb Noble, to offer the product in his Kankakee, Illinois ice cream shop. That summer they held a 10 cent all-you-can-eat sale and sold 1,600 servings in two hours. Two years later, Noble and the McCulloughs opened the first Dairy Queen in Joliet. Today there are more than 6,000 DQ stores worldwide and it all started in Kankakee, Illinois. Don’t miss out on a treat from one of the five Noble Family-owned DQ’s in Kankakee County.
